26. Separate out the following
First – second shifter shaft assembly.
Second – third shifter shaft assembly.
Reverse shifter shaft.
Input shaft assembly.
Lay shaft assembly.
27. Remove the differential assembly.
NOTE:
The Overhauling of subassemblies are
given separately in their respective sections.
6. INPUT SHAFT ASSEMBLY:
A. DISMANTLING:
1. Hold Input shaft in a bench vice.
NOTE:
To ensure that the gears / splines do not
get damaged by the vice jaws, pad it with wooden
pieces or any other softer material.
2. Use puller (Tool No :2834 5890 2604
PULLER FOR REMOVAL OF REAR BRG.
FROM INPUT SHAFT & LAYSHAFT) and
remove the front end bearing.
