4. REMOVAL OF TRANSAXLE FROM

VEHICLE:

1. Drain the transmission oil. For procedure refer

‘Transaxle oil drain’.

2. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor

connector.

3. Disconnect battery, starter motor and AMT kit

electrical connections.

4. Remove the starter motor. For procedure

refer “Electrical Group”.

5. Disengage the exhaust silencer bracket (Near

catalytic convertor joints) from transaxle, by

loosening and removing the bolts (02 No’s).

6. Loosen the bolts and remove the exhaust

silencer.

7. Remove the drive shaft heat shield mounting.

8. Remove the wiring harness from transmission

front half bracket.

9. Remove the LH semi-trailing arm along with

shock absorber and coil spring. For procedure

refer ‘Semi- Trailing arm, Shock absorber and

Coil Spring Removal’ – Suspension Group’.

10. Loosen the three bolts of the back cover

and remove the back cover.

11. Remove the LH driveshaft completely

and disconnect the RH driveshaft from the

transaxle end. For procedure refer ‘Drive Shaft

removal’.

12. Support

the

engine

and

transaxle

(separately) either using a stand from below

or a suspender from above.

13. Loosen and remove the bolts holding the

transaxle housing to engine housing from

engine side.

14. Loosen and remove the bolts (03 No’s)

holding the transaxle housing to engine housing

from transaxle side.
