FRONT AXLE - 4

CARRIER CENTRE SECTION

DISASSEMBLY

Remove the wheel ends, steering knuckles and both

out board shaft assemblies.

Mount the axle on a suitable stand.

Drain the oil by unscrewing the drain plug.

Remove cover plate screws, and cover plate.

Clean the RTV. (RoomTemperatureVulcanizer)

Remove axle shaft snap ring.

Inspect snap ring, discard if required.

Remove the axle shaft.

Remove mounting bracket.

Remove the mounting bracket from centre section.

Remove the right-hand carrier trunnion seal and the

left-hand tube seal using puller slide hammer Pt. no.

2698 5890 3507.

Note :

Discard seal and replace with new one at the

time of assembly.

Remove the left hand side needle roller bearing from

tube using bearing puller Pt. no. 2704 5890 3328.
