5.9.3. REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF

TORSION BEAM

REMOVAL:

1. Position the vehicle in the two post lift.

2. Remove the wheel cap and loosen wheel nuts.

3. Lift the vehicle using two post lift.

4. Remove the wheel.

5. Slacken off the hand brake cable.

6. Insert a screwdriver through the hole in drum

and press against the hand brake lever.

7. A ‘click’ will be heard as the lever moves down.

This movement compresses the pistons in the

wheel cylinder and thereby increases the

clearance between the brake shoes and the

drum.

8. Remove the brake drum by unscrewing the stub

axle nut as shown and gently tapping by mallet.
