C. VACUUM SOLENOID VALVE
The vacuum solenoid valve is an electro pneumatic
solenoid switch, which is controlled by the EMS ECU
based on the Engine speed, Coolant Temperature
and Accelerator pedal position etc. Vacuum solenoid
valve provides variable vacuum levels to operate the
EGR cooler bypass valve.
REMOVAL
1. Remove engine cover.
2. Disconnect all the hose connections & electrical
connection from the vacuum solenoid valve.
3. Remove two mounting bolts of vacuum solenoid
valve & take out the vacuum solenoid valve from
its location.
FITMENT
1. Fit the vacuum solenoid valve on the mounting
bracket.
2. Tighten its two mounting bolts.
3. Connect the hose pipes & electrical connector to
the vacuum solenoid valve.
NOTE
Assemble the vacuum solenoid valve hose as per
marked end as indicated on the Hose and arrow
mark should be at top
.
4. Fit the engine cover.
! CAUTION
Care should be taken to connect the ports of the
vacuum solenoid valve
to their respective hoses.
Any interchanging of the connection will lead to mal-
functioning of the EGR
system.
NON RETURN VALVE
(NRV)
This is provided to separate the brake booster vacu-
um circuit from the Engine Vacuum circuit.
NOTE
At the time of assembly the conical side hose con-
nection of NRV should point towards vacuum pump.
LOCATION
The NRV is located on the firewall in the line be-
tween Vacuum pump and vacuum reservoir.
