P0502

Vehicle Speed

Sensor “A”

Circuit Low.

No critical effect.

Vehicle speed signal loss.

A. For Non-ABS vehicle.

1. Confirm vehicle speed is

displayed in dash board. If

not check continuity from

Vehicle speed sensor to

dashboard.

2. Check Vehicle speed

sensor.

3. Check dashboard cluster.

4. Check intermediate

connector for continuity.

5. Check connector pins for

rust; dirt formation etc.

B. For ABS vehicles check

for ABS ECU related Faults.

A. For Non-ABS vehicle.

1. Rectify electrical connection if continuity is not

there.

2. Replace Vehicle speed sensor if faulty.

3. Replace Dashboard cluster if faulty.

4. Clean the connectors to remove rust etc.

5. Repair/ rectify the connectors.

6. Replace ECU if problem still persists.

B. For ABS vehicle; follow rectification procedure

for ABS related faults.

Vehicle Speed

Sensor “A”

Intermittent/Erra

tic/High.

M

1. Possibly No ODO/Speedo Display.

2. Signal loss from Odometer to ECU.

3. EGR is disabled.

4. Injector learning strategy is deactivated;

MDP Updating is deactivated.

5. Reduced torque mode [Restricted

performance].

6. This DTC will cause P0500 getting

registered.

This DTC gets logged if the

ECU receives vehicle

speed signal corresponding

to200 kmph and above

(which is practically not

possible for this vehicle to

achieve under normal

circumstance).

A. For Non-ABS vehicle.

1. Confirm vehicle speed is

displayed in dash board. If

not check continuity from

Vehicle speed sensor to

dashboard.

2. Check Vehicle speed

sensor.

3. Check dashboard cluster.

4. Check intermediate

connector for continuity.

5. Check connector pins for

rust; dirt formation etc.

B. For ABS vehicles check

for ABS ECU related Faults.

1. Check and confirm vehicle speed is displayed in

dash board. If not check continuity from Vehicle

speed sensor to dashboard.

2. Check Vehicle speed sensor availability /

damage; Replace Vehicle speed sensor if faulty.

3. Check continuity between dashboard clusters to

ECU pins 33, 59 as per circuit schematic.

4. Check dashboard cluster; Replace Dashboard

cluster if faulty.

5. Check intermediate connector for continuity;

Repair/ rectify the connectors.

6. Check connector pins for rust; dirt formation etc.

clean the connectors to remove rust etc.

7. Check ECU; Replace ECU if problem still

persists.

8. Final check for reconfirmation drive the vehicle at

from 0 to 100 kmph and cross check the vehicle

speed shown by ECU against speedo meter; the

readings should be close to each other.

P0513

Incorrect

Immobilizer Key.

Engine will not start.

Wrong or Not learned key.

1. Check for the correctness

of the software in EMS-ECU.

(a) Use correct Immobilizer key learned for this

immobilizer. (b) Erase the DTC.

Battery voltage

sig - AD fault.

H

No major effect.

This DTC gets logged due

to fault registered in the AD

convertor in the ECU.

1. Check the battery voltage

with the ignition switch on.

2. Check whether the battery

terminals are connected

properly and they are tight.

3. Check the charging circuit.

4. Check ECU.

1. Check by erasing the fault once or twice.

2. If the problem keeps on repeating replace ECU.
