Exhaust Gas

Recirculation

Control Circuit

“A” Low.

M

1. MIL is ON.

2. Possible Loss of power / black smoke.

3. EGR is disabled.

This DTC gets logged if OC

or SC to GND is detected in

EGR vacuum modulator

circuit.

1. Check the EGR -EVRV

connection.

2. Check electrical continuity.

3. Check ECU.

1. Check the EGR vacuum modulator connection;

Rectify/ Replace EGR modulator connections if

required.

2. Check continuity between ECU pin 45 and EGR

modulator as per circuit schematics. Check whether

the ecu pin 45 is short circuited to ground if so, and

then rectifies the wiring harness connections.

3. Ensure EGR modulator connector on wiring

harness is connected to EGR modulator.

4. Check EGR – modulator functioning if necessary

replace the EGR – modulator.

5. Check ECU; if problem still persist; replace ECU.

6. Confirmatory check after rectification Perform

actuator test for EGR drive.

M

1. MIL is ON.

2. Possible Loss of power / black smoke

3. EGR is disabled.

This DTC gets logged if SC

to Supply is detected in

EGR vacuum modulator

circuit.

1. Check the EGR -EVRV

connection.

2. Check electrical continuity.

3. Check ECU.

1. Check the EGR vacuum modulator connection;

Rectify/ Replace EGR modulator connections if

required.

2. Check continuity between ECU pin 45 and EGR

modulator as per circuit schematics. Check whether

the ecu pin 45 is short circuited to battery if so, then

rectify the wiring harness connections.

3. Ensure EGR modulator connector on wiring

harness is connected to EGR modulator.

4. Check EGR – modulator functioning if necessary

replace the EGR – modulator.

5. Check ECU; if problem still persist; replace ECU.

6. Confirmatory check after rectification. Perform

actuator test for EGR drive.

nce.

M

1. Possibly No ODO/Speedo Display.

2. Signal loss from Odometer to ECU.

3. EGR is disabled

4. Injector learning strategy is deactivated;

MDP Updating is deactivated

5. Reduced torque mode [Restricted

performance]

6. This DTC will cause P0500 getting

registered.

This DTC gets logged if the

ECU does not receive

vehicle speed signal. This

DTC will get logged only

under vehicle driving

condition; when all the

following conditions are met

at the same time,

a). No vehicle speed

signal from odometer

cluster to ECU.

b) Engine speed exceeds

2000 rpm.

c) Indicated torque

exceeds 200 Nm.

A. For Non-ABS vehicle.

1. Confirm vehicle speed is

displayed in dash board. If

not check continuity from

Vehicle speed sensor to

dashboard.

2. Check Vehicle speed

sensor.

3. Check dashboard cluster.

4. Check intermediate

connector for continuity.

5. Check connector pins for

rust; dirt formation etc.

B. For ABS vehicles check

for ABS ECU related Faults.

1. Check and confirm vehicle speed is displayed in

dash board. If not check continuity from Vehicle

speed sensor to dashboard.

2. Check Vehicle speed sensor availability /

damage; Replace Vehicle speed sensor if faulty.

3. Check continuity between dashboard clusters to

ECU pins 33, 59 as per circuit schematic.

4. Check dashboard cluster; Replace Dashboard

cluster if faulty.

5. Check intermediate connector for continuity;

Repair/ rectify the connectors

6. Check connector pins for rust; dirt formation etc.;

clean the connectors to remove rust etc.

7. Check ECU; Replace ECU if problem still

persists.

8. Final check for reconfirmation drive the vehicle at

from 0 to 100 kmph and cross check the vehicle

speed shown by ECU against speedo meter; the

readings should be close to each other.
