Knock Sensor 1

Circuit.

Engine running noisy up to 2000 rpm.

Accelerometer / Knock

sensor - No signal when

idling.

1. Check sensor connections

for rust dirt etc. and fitment.

2. Check Sensor Fitment.

3. Check Electrical continuity.

4. Check ECU.

1. Clean the connectors for any rust etc. and ensure

fitment.

2. Ensure Proper sensor fitment vis-a vis tightening

torque and the direction of sensor fitment.

3. Follow Electrical continuity check procedure.

Replace/ Rectify Harness if required.

4 Replace ECU; if problem still persists.

Crankshaft

Position Sensor

“A” Circuit.

H

1. Engine does not start.

This DTC gets logged If the

ECU does not receive

crank signal. This can

happen as a result of

1. Open circuit on Crank

sensor connector.

2. If the Air gap between

sensor and the flywheel is

not ok.

3. Number of cam shaft

event is higher than

expected and no crank

event is detected.

1. Visually check sensor.

Check for metallic

particles/burr in sensor tip

and flywheel teeth.

2. Check sensor connections

for rust dirt etc.

3. Check Electrical continuity.

4. Check flywheel teeth for

damage.

5. Check ECU.

1. Visually check the sensor for damage etc.;

2. Check for metallic particles/burr in sensor tip and

flywheel teeth; if noticed Clean the sensor tip and

flywheel to remove any foreign particle.

3. Ensure sensor is connected with the connector

(wiring harness).

4. Visually check if the missing teeth on fly wheel is

alright.

5. Check gap between Crank sensor tip to Flywheel

teeth; gap should be close to 1mm.

6. Check sensor connections for rust dirt etc.

Ensure clean connector pins and proper fitment.

7. Check Electrical continuity between ECU pins 15,

14 and crank sensor connector as per circuit

schematic; follow Electrical continuity check

procedure. Replace/ Rectify Harness if required.

Check whether the EMS ecu pin 14 is shor circuited

to battery/ground. If so rectify the wiring harness

connections.

8. Check flywheel teeth for damage; orientation;

position; etc.; Replace flywheel if found faulty.

9. Check ECU if problem still persists Replace the

ECU.

Engine Does not start.

Crank sensor Signal -

Engine stalled.

1. Visually check sensor.

Check for metallic

particles/burr in sensor tip

and flywheel teeth.

2. Check sensor connections

for rust dirt etc.

3. Check Electrical continuity.

4. Check flywheel teeth for

damage.

5. Check ECU.

1. Clean the sensor tip and flywheel to remove any

foreign particle.

2. Ensure clean connector pins and proper fitment.

3. Follow Electrical continuity check procedure.

Replace/ Rectify Harness if required.

4. Replace sensor if found faulty.

5. Replace ECU; if problem still persists.
