Oil Filter –Lip Seal Removing Procedure:

1. Drain the transmission. See Fluid Drain & Oil

Pan Removing Procedure

2. Hand remove the Oil Filter and discard. Pull

the fluid filter assembly straight out. Do not

bend or twist the filter neck.

3. If the cover pump lip seal is totally or partially

out of the cover pump housing or if the lip seal

is damaged:

Remove it by using a screwdriver or snap ring

pliers.

● Discard the lip seal.

● Install a new lip seal (see cover pump lip

seal installing procedure).

NOTE:

Good installation: The lip seal should be flushed.

Oil Filter–Lip Seal Installing Procedure

1. If cover pump seal is in place and not

damaged.

2. Prior fitting the new cover pump lip seal,

ensure no rubber debris in the cover pump

bore.

3. Apply some transmission oil fluid on the seal.

4. Use the Dolly oil filter seal installer

(287058902612) and for installing the filter

seal.

IMPORTANT

Insure Lip Seal properly installed, see Oil Filter –

Lip Seal Removing Procedure.

5. Carefully install the fluid filter assembly by

pushing straight in cover pump hole.
