4.7. T. INSTALLATION OF TRANSAXLE ON

THE CAR:

1. Tie actuating lever of clutch in clutch

disengaged position. Place clutch release

bearing (replace by new one if required) on

input shaft and locate it properly.

2. Fix ‘B’ mount bracket on transaxle.

3. Support and lower the engine assembly

slightly and align transaxle assembly with

engine assembly.

4. Fit clutch housing on to engine and locate

bolts and tighten them.

5. Fix the ‘B’ mount nut and tighten it to specified

torque.

6. Locate and fix ‘B’ mount rubber pad on

bracket below the battery tray.

7. Lift the transaxle assembly and engine

assembly together.

8. Torque transaxle housing mounting bolts to

specified torque.

9. Fix ‘C’ mount bracket to transaxle housing

and remove engine support.

10. Align and insert both the drive shaft

assemblies into transaxle carefully.

CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO DAMAGE

DRIVESHAFT OIL SEAL AND ITS BOOTS (DO

NOT USE HAMMER).

Ensure that splined end of plunge joint is

inserted fully in differential gear.

11. Assemble ball joints on lower link (both RH

and LH).

12. Connect ball joint (steering rack) on steering

knuckle.

13. Connect clutch release cable to clutch release

lever and adjust (see Clutch group for cable

adjustment procedure). Route the harness

carefully under the lever.

14. Fix fuel line support bracket on clutch housing

and tighten the mounting bolts to specified

torque.

15. Fix clutch housing inspection cover.

16. Connect gear shift cables.

17. Fix starter motor.

18. Connect Speedo-cable and vehicle speed

sensor.

19. Connect reverse light switch connection.

20. Place the battery tray and mount battery on it.

21. Connect electrical connection of starter motor.

22. Refit the cooling module to the vehicle (Refer

remove and refitment of cooling module in

engine section)

23. Fix air filter.

24. Fit wheels and hand tighten the bolts and

lower the vehicle from the two post lift.

25. Tighten wheel mounting bolts to specified

torque.

26. Fill transaxle oil.

27. Fix fuel filter assembly.

28. Connect battery terminals.

29. Fix power steering pressure line and Refill

power steering oil.
