F. TIMING BELT REMOVAL

1. Remove air filter outlet hose for easy accessibil-

ity.

2. Loosen and remove the front timing cover bolts

and take out the front timing cover.

3. Remove the AC compressor belt and Power

steering pump belt (stretch belt) (for procedure

refer AC compressor belt removal procedure in

this section).

4. Disconnect electrical connection from cam phase

sensor and loosen and remove the bolt of cam

phase sensor.

5. Lift the vehicle and remove the stone guard.

6. Lock the flywheel using locking pin

(Part no. 2870

5890 06 01) to bring the piston of No.1 cylinder to

TDC position.

7. Remove the cam phase sensor and insert the

locking pin (Part no. 2653 5890 06 09) for on ve-

hicle ease for locking the camshaft.
