C. POWER STEERING PUMP BELT

(STRETCH BELT)

The stretch belt used in this vehicle is multi ribbed

belt. This belt is pre-tensioned over power steering

pump and crank shaft pulleys and therefore do not

require the tensioner as this is capable of efficient

power transmission.

! CAUTION

The stretch belt is not interchangeable and should

not be interchanged with normal V-ribbed belts

.

STRETCH BELT REMOVAL

Remove the stretch belt from vehicle using stretch

belt removal tool 2702 5890 0623.

! CAUTION

Stretch belt should not be reused. Once removed it

should be replaced by new one.

FITMENT

1. Install the new stretch belt on power steering

pump pulley.

2. Align the belt with the crank shaft pulley and hold

the belt with the mounting tool (Part no. 2702

5890 0622) and rotate the crank shaft pulley

clockwise.

! CAUTION

Ensure that the tool is correctly located during the

belt fitment process.Make sure that while rotating the

crank shaft pulley the belt should not slip away from

power steering pump pulley.

D. ALTERNATOR AND AC BELT

ALTERNATOR AND AC BELT REMOVAL

1. Remove the power steering belt (stretch belt) by

cutting the same.

NOTE

Do not reuse the power steering pump belt once re-

moved.

2. Remove the tensioner cap

(1)

and loosen the

tensioner bolt

(2).

3. Reduce the belt tension by rotating the tensioner

screw

(3)

in clockwise direction

(Tightening direc-

tion of a RH threaded screw)

and remove the

belt.

INSPECTION

Inspect the Alternator belt for wear, cracks and

signs of failures. Replace if necessary.
