1. Fit the crankshaft timing tool (1) part no.
287158900650 (Template).
2. Fit the lower cylinder head centering bushes (1)
on the engine block.
NOTE
• Before fitting the locating bushes, check that the
height is 10 mm.
3. Fit the new cylinder head gasket selected (2).
4. Position the cylinder head (3) on the cylinder block/
crankcase.
5. Tighten the cylinder head bolts (4) to the
recommended torque of 3.8 ~ 4.2 Kg-m + 90°
using the angular tightening tool.
NOTE
Q
Follow the tightening sequence order shown
in the diagram.

The nominal tightening of 4.0 Kg-m should be
performed in two stages: first pre-tightened to
2.0 Kg-m and then tightened to 4.0 Kg-m.
Q
There is a tolerance of 3° more or less for the
two angular tightening.
3A.1.2.2.7 INSTALLATION OF CYLINDER
HEAD ASSEMBLY AND OIL SUMP
6. Check the cylinder head - crankcasemisalignment.
Only the cylinder head can protrude from the
crankcase and not the crankcase.
NOTE
Q
The permissible protrusion of the cylinder head
from the crankcase is 0.1mm.
7. Connect the condensed engine oil recovery pipe,
oil vapour separator side, and tighten the band.
8. Tighten the bolt securing the water/exhaust gas
heat exchanger for the EGR to the engine block.
9. Connect the coolant supply pipe to the engine oil
heat exchanger and secure it using the band and
the bolts.
10.Connect the E.G.R. pipe to the thermostat and
secure it using the band.
