129. Connect the fuel injector return line to the fuel
injection pump.
130. Install the fuel manifold and tighten the
bolts to the proper (Torque Specifications).
131. Install the fuel injection pump to fuel manifold
pipe and tighten the fittings to the proper (Torque
Specifications).
132. Install the fuel manifold to fuel injector pipes
and tighten the fittings to the proper (Torque
Specifications).
133. Install the oil vapor separator with the oil vapor
recovery pipe attached and tighten the bolts to the
proper (Torque Specifications).
134. Install the oil vapor recovery pipe bolts and
tighten to the proper (Torque Specifications).
135. Position a NEW exhaust manifold gasket
on the cylinder head.
136. Install the exhaust manifold with the
turbocharger attached using new nuts tightened to
the proper (Torque Specifications).
137. Install the oil level indicator tube with a NEW
O-ring seal and tighten the bolt to the proper
(Torque Specifications).
138. Position a NEW gasket on the turbocharger
end of the turbocharger oil return tube and engage
the retaining tabs on the fitting.
139. Install the turbocharger oil return tube and
tighten the bolts to the proper (Torque
Specifications).
140. Install the turbocharger oil supply tube with
NEW gaskets and tighten the fittings to the proper
(Torque Specifications).
141. Install the DPF and secure with the bracket
and nuts tightened to the proper (Refer to 11 -
Exhaust System/ Specifications).
142. Position the DPF to turbocharger clamp and
tighten the nut to the proper (Refer to 11 - Exhaust
System/ Specifications).
143. Install the DPF heat shield and tighten the
nuts to the proper (Torque Specifications).
144. Install the turbocharger heat shield and
tighten the bolts to the proper (Torque
Specifications).
145. Engage the oxygen sensor connector to the
retaining bracket.
146. Position the wire harness on the engine and
make the following connections:
• Connect the fuel pressure regulator wire harness
connector.
• Connect the manifold pressure and temperature
sensor wire harness connector.
• Connect the glow plug wire harness connectors.
• Connect the fuel pressure sensor wire harness
connector.
• Connect the alternator ground wire and tighten
the nut to the proper (Torque Specifications).
• Connect the engine oil pressure sensor wire
harness connector.
• Connect the EGR solenoid wire harness
connector.
• Connect the crankshaft position sensor wire
harness connector.
• Install the bolt in the engine wire harness tray and
tighten to the proper (Torque Specifications).
• Connect the EGR heat exchanger coolant
solenoid wire harness connector.
• Connect the coolant temperature sensor wire
harness connector.
• Connect the throttle body wire harness connector.
• Connect the fuel injector wire harness
connectors.
• Connect the camshaft position sensor wire
harness connector.
• Install the bolt in the engine wire harness tray and
tighten to the proper (Torque Specifications).
• Connect the A/C compressor wire harness
connector.
147. Install the oil drain plug and tighten to the
proper (Torque Specifications).
148. Service the engine with the proper quality and
quantity of engine oil (Refer to 04 - Vehicle Quick
Reference/ Capacities and Recommended
Fluids/Specifications).
