7.
Procedure for Pairing of EMS & ICU
Applicability: when Immobilizer (VICM) is changed.
Caution:
As AES key is based on vehicle VIN number, care should be taken while reading and writing of VIN
No. & it cannot be changed once it is written into the ICU.
Any irregularity in the above procedure may leads to vehicle immobilization, in spite of new
Immobilizer.
Pre-requisites:
·
New ICU with 2 learnt E-keys
·
Diagnostic tester (Immobilizer, EMS)
Details of operation:
1.
Connect Diagnostic Tester to the diagnostics connector in the vehicle.
2.
Turn E-key (of the new immobilizer fitted on SCL) to IGN-ON position,
3.
Ensure that EMS (as per actual engine Diesel/ Petrol) for Diagnostics is selected in “Diagnostic
Tester”
4.
Read the VIN no. from vehicle chassis or EMS ECU (as per section 8)
5.
Ensure that Immobilizer for Diagnostics is selected in “Diagnostic Tester”
6.
Write the VIN no. in ICU (as per section 9)
7.
Confirm back the written VIN no, by reading it from Immobilizer only
(refer procedure below)
a.
If it is wrong, Please write it again (go to sr. no. 4).
8.
Issue commands from Diagnostics tester:
a.
“Start” Communication.
b.
Select “Pair EMS” operation
i.
Press “start communication” – Diagnostics Tester generates AES key from VIN no.
(present in Immobilizer)
ii.
Diagnostics Tester writes AES key into Immobilizer and locks it automatically
(cannot be changed afterwards).
iii.
After finishing ICU & EMS ECU pairing, Diagnostic Tester displays message “Pairing
completed successfully”
iv.
Press “stop” communication.
9.
Switch OFF & ON the ignition, for normal operation
