Restraints Control Module (SRS / Airbag) -ECU Replacement Procedure

ECU needs to be replaced in service, if SRS (Airbag) ECU logs any of the below
DTC’s
:
1.
If following DTCs are present, then follow the below steps for its rectification: -
a.
U1006 – 43
- Control Module Internal special memory failure (follow the below process)
i.
Clear DTC. Turn OFF & ON Ignition & Check for DTC’s (at least 2 to 3 times).
ii.
If DTC is still present, replace the Airbag ECU (
as per ECU replacement
procedure
).
iii.
Send the old ECU to TML QA team for analysis.
b.
U1006 – 49
- Control Module Internal electronic failure (follow the below process)
i.
Clear DTC. Turn OFF & ON Ignition & Check for DTC’s (at least 2 to 3 times).
ii.
If DTC is still present, replace the Airbag ECU (
as per ECU replacement
procedure
).
iii.
Send the old ECU to TML QA team for analysis.
c.
B1011 – 00
- Front Deployment Crash no sub type information (follow the below
process)
i.
Clear DTC. Turn OFF & ON Ignition & Check for DTC’s (at least 2 to 3
times).
ii.
Send the diagnostic request “14 FF FF FF” & check whether NRC 22 is
received?
iii.
If NRC 22 is received, replace the Airbag ECU (
as per ECU replacement
procedure
).
iv.
Send the old ECU to TML QA team for analysis.
