9. Control the two engine dowel pins. If bent or

damaged, replace them.

10. Control the ring around the flex plate for any

bend or damaged tooth. If bend or damaged

tooth, replace the flex plate.

11. Apply 3GM of synthetic grease 365 SS6808

TS25205P1 - PART NO. 5514 0860 02 5 in

convertor pilot hole of engine crankshaft.

12. Align the transmission with the engine dowels.

WARNING:

Damage to the flex plate could involve in

malfunction of engine and or transmission.

Insure clearance is maintained between the

transmission and the following:

-Vehicle wiring harness.

-Vehicle to transmission cooler pipes.

13. Install 8 new converter housing screws &

tighten to tightening torque 4.6 to 5kgfm.

14. Push Converter by hand against the flex

plate.

15. Let the vehicle down.

16. Turn the crank pulley using a H19 wrench

CLOCKWISE ONLY until the torque converter

bolt hole is aligned with the flex plate bolt

hole.

17. Install and Hand tighten 6 new screws.

NOTE:

Torque converter bolts are self-locking and must

be replaced with NEW torque converter bolts

every time the bolts are removed.
