6. Install the transmission on transmission
support jack and secure it with the safety
chains.
7. Tilt slightly the transmission backward about
4° to 4.5° to avoid converter fall out.
8. Remove the converter stopper plate (2870
5890 2620).
9. Control the two engine dowel pins. If bend or
damaged, replace them.
10. Control the ring around the flex plate for any
bend or damaged tooth. If bend or damaged
tooth, replace the flex plate.
11. Apply 3gms of synthetic grease 365SS6808
TS25205P1-Part No. 5541 0860 025 in
convertor pilot hole of engine crankshaft.
12. Align the transmission with the engine dowels
and push the transmission against the engine.
WARNING:
Damage to the flex plate could involve in
malfunction of engine and or transmission.
Insure clearance is maintained between the
transmission and the following:
-Vehicle wiring harness.
-Vehicle to transmission cooler pipes.
13. Install 8 No’s NEW converter housing screws
& tighten to torque of 4.6 to 5 Kgfm.
