4.2.3.2 GEARBOX DISMANTLING (ON BENCH)
1. Remove the magnetic drain plug and drain the
gear box oil.
2. Remove the clutch release bearing and clutch
release fork. (For procedure refer clutch removal
procedure in Clutch section)
3. Loosen and remove clutch housing nuts along
with spring and bright washer and separate the
clutch housing from the gear box.
4. Loosen and remove the nuts (6 Nos.) and take
out the top cover assembly along with the gear
shifter linkage. Remove the gasket which is be-
tween top cover and rear half. (4x2 & 4x4)
NOTE
Separate the shifter linkage assembly from the top
cover assembly by removing the retainer clip and the
cylindrical pin.
5. Remove the staking from the lock nut on end
flange assembly with the help of chisel.
6. Lock the flange assembly with the special tool
(Part No. 2894 5890 35 17), loosen and remove
the end yoke nut by holding it with sprocket (Part
No. 2698 5890 41 01) and then pull out the end
flange with the help of standard puller. (Only in
case of 4X2 version.)
