23.9 DIAGNOSTICS USING BLINK CODES

The diagnostics of the HVAC control unit can be

done by activating the diagnostic mode of the control

unit. The active faults present in the system can be

retrieved through the blink codes.

NOTE

This section is applicable only for vehicles with man-

ual HVAC. Vehicles with FATC system should use

diagnostic tool to read the faults.

A ACTIVATING DIAGNOSTICS MODE

The diagnostics mode on the Manual control head

shall be entered by pressing the A/C Request

pushbutton as shown in Figure below.

The diagnostic mode shall be activated only if the

following criteria are met:

a. Blower Switch is in OFF position

b. A/C Key is held pressed for at least 5 seconds

after ignition is turned ON.

When the diagnostic mode is active, it shall be dis-

played by flashing the Rear Defrost LED at the rate

indicated below in Table below.

ON Duration

2 seconds

OFF Duration

2 seconds

NOTE

When the system is in diagnostic mode the normal

operations of the control unit is suspended.

1. At this point you can query the active faults by

pressing the AC button.

2. If there are active faults in the system the AC

LED will glow continuously without flashing.
