TRANSFER CASE

DISASSEMBLY

End Yoke

(Level1 Repair)

Holding the end yoke by yoke holding tool, remove

the nut and washer and then remove the end yoke.

Remove the two plugs from the cover.

Remove bolt and remove the speedo assembly.

External Electric Shift Parts

Remove the bolt, washer, 3 bolts and harness bracket.

Remove the sensor assembly and remove the o-ring

from the speed sensor.

Remove the motor assembly.

Cover Assembly

Refer fig. 8

Remove the 9 bolts, wiring harness clip and

identification tag.

Pry and disconnect the sealant bond of the cover and

the transfer case in such a way that the metal sur-

face is not damaged.

Remove the oil seal, bearing, 3 nuts and clutch coil

assembly of electric shift unit.

Remove the snap ring and pull out the ball bearing

from the cover to remove the speed drive gear.

Pull out the needle bearing from the cover.

Pull out the oil seal from the cover.

Remove the magnet from the slot in the case.

Remove the return spring from the rail shaft.

Clean and remove the sealant of the cover and case.

Be careful not to damage the metal surface.

Note :

Identification tag has information related to

ordering of spare parts preserve it carefully.
