4.3 TRANSPORT MODE FUNCTIONALITY

4.3.1 Description

When the vehicle is being transported to the dealer from the factory location, the transport mode is activated

by BCM.

Some of the vehicle functionalities will be disabled during the transport mode e.g. Music system, Air-

conditioning etc.

Transport mode consists of following different modes:

Transport Park

Transport Drive

Transport Drive CRANK

Transport Drive RUN

4.3.2 Conditional Requirements

BCM activates the transport mode when the transport fuse link (part of the cabin fuse box) is removed

and the other pre-conditions (ex: Vehicle speed = 0 and engine is not running etc) are met. BCM

publishes the power mode state on CAN.

The transport mode function ensures the low quiescent current when vehicle is in sleep mode and during

the vehicle transportation. This is to achieve the less load on battery and hence to avoid jump start

condition at dealer end.

On Fault –

If the transport link is fused out when in vehicle run condition, BCM does not enter into/exit the transport

mode.
