ENGINE 273 MPFI

LAMBDA (OXYGEN) SENSOR

Working Principle:

The sensor consists of an insulating tube made up of

a special ceramic material (catalyst) which is to be

heated by heater supply. It is placed into the exhaust

manifold. When heated above 350 °C, it delivers an

output signal between +100 mv (lean exhaust gas)

and +80 mv (rich exhaust gas).

The output signal (air to fuel ratio signal) of this sensor

is given to the ECU (as a function of varying air/fuel

ratio) for adjusting the injection pulse duration to

achieve the ideal air-fuel ratio.

Installation Details:

Installation angle must be maintained.

Tightening Torque: 40 - 60 Nm

Storage Conditions:

Storage Temperature: -40°C to +100°C. The technical

development of the sensor is aligned to a service life

of 1, 60,000 Km and a maximum life time of 10 years.
