Inspection of TP Sensor
•
Check the TP sensor by multimeter for intermit-
tent open circuit while the throttle lever is rotated.
•
Check the Resistance of the TP sensor. (Refer
3.11.5 Trouble Shooting and Diagnosis
•
Check for proper fitment of the throttle lever spring.
PRECAUTION
Do not remove spring or try to adjust tension.
Do not adjust the throttle lever adjustment screw.
•
Using trox, remove the screw of the TP Sensor.
PRECAUTION
Removal operation to be done in a clean area.
Remove the TPS from the throttle body.
Refitment of TPS on throttle body
•
Check the condition of the O-ring of the TPS.
PRECAUTION
Ensure that the O-ring is not damaged and is
placed in position.
•
Position the TPS into the throttle body.
PRECAUTION
Ensure that the alignment of the slot of the TPS is
proper.
•
Using trox, fit the screw of the TP sensor.
•
Fit the accelerator cable connection to throttle body.
•
Fit the clamps to the throttle body assembly using
screw driver.
•
Connect the TPS connector.
•
Reconnect battery negative terminal.
•
After replacing TPS or throttle body, it must be
ensured that the accelerator cable zero setting /
cable tension is adjusted properly.
•
After replacing TPS or throttle body on vehicle it is
good practised to make the ignition on- off and
press the accelerator pedal 5-7 time fully. Repeat
the cycle for 1-2 times. This is because the ECU
takes sometime to learn the throttle position from
new throttle position sensor.
