FUEL INJECTOR
Storage Temperature and Operating
Temperature
Storing temperature (original packaging): -40°C to
70°C
Maximum time of storage: 1 year
Maximum injector temperature in the vehicle (not
operated): 140°C
Operating temperature:
1. Continous permissible temp.: -40°C to 110°C
2. In short termoperation after hot start (about 3min.)
permissible up to 130°C.
3. Permissible fuel temperature at injector inlet:
- < +70°C (continuous) up to 100°C (short-term
about 3 min.)
4. In the temp. range from -40°C to 45°C, a flow
deviation of up to 5% (in relation to the
measurement at 20°C) can occur due to the temp.
influence.
Above 45°C a flow deviation in excess of 5%may
occur depending on the characteristics of the fuel
and on the test conditions.

Location
Two numbers of injectors are fitted on fuel rail and fuel
is fed by a common fuel rail so that the fuel spray from
each injector is directed towards the inlet valve, inside
the inlet port.
Working Principle
Fuel Injectors are the actuators which controls the air
fuel mixture which in turn controls the engine output.
The amount of fuel delivered by the fuel injector is
determined electronically in accordance with the air
flow in such a way as to minimize pollutants in the
exhaust gas.
System Integration
Supply voltage: 6V to 16V (from main relay)
ECU provides drive signal to Injector (normally closed
valve) to open and remain in open condition (pulse
width-ms) depending upon the engine operating
conditions (speed/load). Also the pulse width is
compensated for low battery voltage condition. The
concept of Sequential injection means when ECU
provides drive signal to each injector separately at the
end of compression.
