L
1. MIL is ON.
2. This DTC will also cause P1101 to get
registered.
3. No critical effect.
4. No recovery action.
This DTC gets logged due
to AMF Plausibility test. i.e.,
when the air flow value
read from the sensor is
more than expected higher
value.
1. Check for electrical
continuity and deposit
formation on the AMF
sensor.
2. Check inlet air circuit / air
filter for clogging; wrong
assembly/fitment etc.
1. Check for Reference voltage 1 fault (P0642;
P0643) if present; Follow Reference voltage
1(sensor supply voltage 1) check and rectification
Procedure; to correct this fault before proceeding
further. Check for electrical continuity between ECU
pins 75, 55, 20 and AMF connector as per circuit
schematics and rectify electrical discontinuity if
noticed.
2. Clean the deposit formation on the
sensor/connector if present.
3. Check the inlet air circuit / air filter for clogging;
wrong assembly/fitment etc.
4. Replace AMF sensor if problem persists.
5. After rectification ensure the following before
handing over to customer.
a) Check whether the Air mass flow sensor
reading at ignition key on shows 636 mg/st.
b) When the engine is at idle. Air mass flow
reading should be between 500 mg/st to 600
mg/st.
c) When the engine is at fly-up Air mass flow
reading should be between 700 mg/st to 800
mg/st.

M
1. MIL is ON.
2. Probable loss of power and black smoke.
3. This DTC will also cause P1101 to get
registered.
This DTC gets logged if the
air flow value read from the
AMF sensor is less then the
lower threshold.
1. Check connector for
proper fitment; damage etc.
2. Check sensor for oxidation
rust etc.
3. Check harness for
damages; check electrical
continuity.
4. Check ECU.
1. Check for Reference voltage 1 fault (P0642;
P0643) if present; Follow Reference voltage
1(sensor supply voltage 1) check and rectification
Procedure; to correct this fault before proceeding
further. Check the sensor connector for proper
fitment; damage etc.; ensure proper fitment of the
connector with the sensor.
2. Check sensor for oxidation rust; etc.; if noticed
clean the deposits.
3. Check wiring harness continuity between ECU
pins 75, 55, 20 and AMF sensor connector as per
circuit schematic; Replace/ rectify harness to
ensure continuity. Check whether the ECU pin 55 is
short circuited to ground. Rectify the wiring harness
connections if any short circuits are found.
4. Replace AMF sensor if found defective.
5. Check the ECU; replace ECU if found defective.
6. After rectification ensure the following before
handing over to customer.
a) Check the Air mass flow sensor reading at
ignition key on shows 636 mg/st.
b) When the engine is at idle. Air mass flow
reading should be between 500 mg/st to 600
mg/st
c) When the engine is at fly-up Air mass flow
reading should be between 700 mg/st to 800
mg/st.
