G. ABNORMAL CONDITION ENGINE AND

TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY

1. Before assembling (or reassembling) the T/M to

the Engine, make sure that there is no gap (A)

between T/M and Engine as left picture.

Do not assemble (or reassemble) the T/M to the

ENG when this gap (A) exists

2. Correct assembly for Oil pump key

Oil Pump Key Part (B) Engaged Properly

3. Incorrect assembly for Oil pump key

T/C protruded due to Interference with the Oil

Pump Key Part (C)

4. While there is a gap(A), It would mean that the

key of oil pump gear is not assembled properly

to the T/C hub.

In this case,

a. Remove the T/M

b. Then reinstall the Torque-converter to T/M

according to the key shape of oil pump gear

If the tightening bolts between Engine and T/M

are tightened forcibly in spite of a gap, key of oil

pump gear will be damaged or broken.
