8. REMOVAL AND RE-FITMENT
A. TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
1. Put the torque converter assembly to automatic
transmission assembly smoothly.
Always keep the transmission assembly parallel
to the direction of the axis align when moving.
CAUTION
Apply the ATF to the oil pump seal before
installing the torque converter assy.
When you assembling the torque converter
assembly to oil pump assembly, be careful not
to damage of oil pump seal.
Do not permit misalign of center axis between
oil pump assembly and torque converter assy.
(Oil seal damage by torque converter impeller
hub)
2. Confirm the torque converter assembly
condition before docking with engine.
While matching the hole between Torque
converter assembly and Engine, Please turn
torque converter assembly carefully, if torque
converter assembly turns smoothly then the
torque converter assembly assembled
condition is okay.
WARNING
When torque converter assembly re-assembly
is needed, Technician should work carefully
when docking torque converter
During the reassembly, carefully push torque
converter assembly into direction of the axis by
turning torque converter assembly clockwise or
counter-clockwise.
This prevents the damage (wear, crack, etc) to
the oil pump drive gear key caused by
overloaded force exerted on torque converter
assembly
