KRYOTEC ENGINE

93

2. Install the cylinder head centering bushing into

the engine block, timing gear side.

NOTE

In case it was not necessary to proceed to the

flattening of the cylinder head, use a NEW gasket

having the same thickness of the removed.

Otherwise it is necessary to determine the

thickness of the NEW cylinder head gasket.

3. If necessary, measure the protrusion of the

pistons at two points 180° apart, on the axis of the

pin with the tool and take the average of the two

readings for each piston.

4. If necessary, choose the thickness of the

cylinder head gasket to be used, as a function of

the maximum value between the averages of the

protrusion of the pistons (Refer to 09 - Engine/

Specifications).

5. Install the NEW cylinder head gasket.

NOTE

Move the cylinder to the 1st P.M.S.; further rotate

the crankshaft of two teeth of the pulley driving gear

so as to lower the pistons, thus avoiding any

interference with the valves during the assembly of

the cylinder head.

6. Place the cylinder head on the engine block.

NOTE

The cylinder head bolts, due to the permanent

elongation which happens at during installation,

cannot be reused more than four times. Therefore,

if you do not know the number of previous cylinder

head bolt installations, it is imperative to replace

them.
