Customer Symptom
Left Daylight Running Lamp always ON
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. Left Daylight Running Lamp always ON
2. Battery drain
Lamp Status (If Any)
Always ON
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged by BCM when Left Daylight
Running Lamp output is shorted to battery or open
circuit
Normal Operating Condition
DRL turn On when Ignition is ON / vehicle is running
and both Headlamp and position lamps are ON.
Probable Trouble Area
1. BCM connector Fault
2. Left Daylight Running Lamp output wire Short to
battery or open circuit
3. Left Daylight Running Lamp bulb blown /lamp
damaged
4. BCM ECU fault
5. Left Daylight Running Lamp mating connector
fault
Healing Condition
1. Ignition OFF
ON
2. Clear DTC Command
Component Details:
Daylight Running lamps (DRL) are located at left front side of vehicle. DRL turn ON when Ignition is ON
/ vehicle is running and both Headlamp and position lamps are OFF.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)
2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
Trouble Shooting:-
1) Disconnect Vehicle battery.
2) Check continuity between A) left DRL output wire (c4-52) and battery. B) Between BCM pin (c4-52) and
BCM battery (c3-2 / c3-1). C) Check for short within BCM. If found, rectify fault.
3) Remove BCM side connector and perform visual check of connectors for pin bent or damage etc. If
found faulty, correct fault.
4) Remove DRL side mating connector and perform visual check of connector for pin bent or damaged
etc. If found faulty, correct fault.
5) Remove BCM connector. Take out left DRL output wire (c4-52) from connector. Reconnect all
connections including battery. Check if DRL is coming ON. If yes, reconnect all connectors firmly.
