Verifying and Checking Procedures C510:
Oil Level Check:
1. Wait for the electric pump to turn off (The
electric pump turns on when the driver's
side door is opened and goes off automat-
ically after a maximum of 30 seconds).
2.
Bring the ignition key to Ignition.
3.
Perform various gear changes with the
engine off (at least 10) until the electric
pump comes on.
4.
Immediately after the electric pump
turns off launch the calibration “accu-
mulator depressurisation” and then check
the oil level of the hydraulic unit.
5.
If the oil level is lower than the Max refer-
ence perform the refilling procedure; if
greater restore to the Max level.
NOTE:
It is good practice to note down the amount
of oil needed for refilling.
Oil Leak Check:
1.
After having checked the oil level (see
procedure 2), note down the amount of
oil needed for refilling.
2.
Carry out a visual inspection of the pipes,
electric pump, reservoir, hydraulic unit,
actuators (engagement/selection, CSC
clutch) whilst carrying out 50 gear changes
from 1st to 5th/Reverse and from
5th/Reverse to 1st (with a frequency of 1
gear change every 3-4 secs).
3.
If leaks are detected replace/repair the
parts involved, refill oil and restart from
point 1.
4.
If no leaks are found:
If the amount of oil before refilling is > 200
cc -> replace hydraulic unit,
If the amount of oil before refilling is < 200
cc -> repeat point 2 checking thoroughly
for any leaks from the CSC clutch,
If it's all ok proceed to the next step in the
diagnosis table.
Oil Pressure Check:
1.
Bring the ignition key to IGNITION ON.
2.
Connect the diagnostic equipment and
read the pressure on it.
3.
With the electric pump off the pressure
should be between 42 and 52 bar at am-
bient temperature.
Electrical Pump Supply Check:
1.
Bring the ignition key to Ignition.
2.
Connect the diagnostic tool equipment.
3.
Check with diagnostic tool that the battery
voltage is greater than 11 V; if the voltage
is lower check the battery.
4.
Display with diagnostic tool the output
status of the pump relay (ON/OFF).
5.
Perform gear changes until the electrical
pump activates.
6.
Suspend the gear change requests and
check how long the electric pump stays on
(feeling the electric pump and looking at
the Diagnostic tool at the same time when
the output status of the relay pump
switches from ON to OFF).
7.
If the parameter's status "pump relay out-
put" is ON, but the electrical pump does
not seem to be on check the electrical
power supply chain for the electric pump
(relay, fuse).
