8.7 MAINTENANCE

A PRELIMINARY INSPECTION



Check the oil level in the transfer case and top-

up if necessary.



Check for any damage on the exterior of the

transfer case.

B REGULAR MAINTENANCE

CHANGING TRANSFER CASE OIL

1. Lift the vehicle in the two post lift.

2. Clean the oil level plug, drain plug and

surrounding area.

3. Place a container to collect oil, under the

transfer case.

4. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil

5. Remove the oil level plug.

6. Tighten the drain plug.

7. Fill new oil (Shell donax TG) through oil level

plug, till it begins to drip out.

8. Tighten the oil level plug.

CAUTION



Before checking or removing the oil, warming

up the transfer case is necessary. This should

be done by driving the vehicle for some time.



Do not use an impact wrench to open or tighten

the drain and oil level plugs. This may damage

the threads in the transfer case.



Always use recommended oil

(Shell donax TG)

TOD OIL CHECK

1. Switch of the engine and disconnect the battery

negative.

2. Lift the vehicle on two poster lift.

3. Loosen and remove the filler plug.

4. Check the level of oil by inserting a finger in the

filler hole.

5. TOD oil should be till the level of filler plug if

found less top up the oil.
