Transmission Fluid Level checking procedure:
1. Install the scan tool to read the TFT
(transmission fluid temperature).
2. Start and idle the engine.
3. Press the brake pedal and move the shift
lever through each gear range. Stay for at
least 3seconds in each range. Move the
transmission selector back to Park.
TIP:
It is not necessary to bump up to M5 & M6
because 5th & 6th clutches are already fed in M2
& M3.
4. Allow the engine to idle for at least 1minute.
5. Raise the vehicle on a hoist, with the engine
running and the shift lever in the PARK range.
6. Remove transmission protection if needed.
7. Put oil container under the fluid pan and
remove the oil drain plug.
WARNING:
The engine must be running when the trans oil
level check plug is removed or excessive fluid loss
will occur, resulting in an under-filled condition. An
under-filled transmission will cause premature
component wear or damage.
Fluid level checking procedure must be done with
the transmission fluid temperature between 30°&
50°c.
8. Discard the plug.
9. Allow any fluid to drain.
If the fluid is flowing as a steady stream, wait
until the fluid begins to drip.
Fluid dripping must occur between 30°C &
50°C.
If no dripping when temperature has raised
50°Cthen see Transmission level after repairs
procedure.
Maximum level: condition if oil is dripping at
30°C (+/-2°C).
