Anti-lock Braking System(ABS)

G. The Air gap should be

0.475mm

to 1.175 for

4x4 vehicles.

NOTE :

Air gap cannot be measured in 4x2 vehicles

(Front WSS).

H. Clear all fault codes and road test the vehicle

to ensure proper operation of the brake

system.

C. FRONT TONER RING :

Inspection :

1. Position the vehicle in a 2 poster lift and raise

it.

2. In case of 4x4 vehicles steer the wheel to

extreme steering locks position so that the

toner ring can be easily seen.

3. In 4x2 vehicles, remove the front axle hub

assembly

(For procedure refer Front Axle 4x2

section)

4. Closely inspect the toner ring and remove the

dust, mud or iron particles in between the

teeth.

Check for any damaged teeth.

(Front toner ring

has got 54

teeth).

6. Replace toner ring if any teeth are missing or

damaged.

Refer front axle section (either 4x4

or 4x2) and use recommended tool to remove

the toner ring.
