16. ANTITHEFT DEVICE :
Immobiliser (If fitted)
Immobiliser (Anti-theft security system) if fitted : This
system disables the starter motor circuit, ignition
supply and fuel cut-off solenoid supply and fuel cut-
off solenoid supply. The vehicle can be started only if
the key fitted with corresponding transponder is
inserted in the ignition switch.
A. Programming the keys of the vehicle
equipped with transponder :
1. Insert a key with transponder in the ignition switch
and turn to “ON” (+15) and then to OFF.
2. Take away the key from the ignition switch : the
LED starts flashing fast for 30 seconds, during
this time move the transponder master card close
to the ignition switch Fig. 42 (where) the antenna
is located) and wait until the LED goes off.
3. Move the transponder master card away: the LED
starts flashing very fast for 30 seconds, during
this time the system is set for the 1st transponder
self-learning.
4. Insert the 1st transponder key in the ignition
switch : LED will go off; the 1st key is
programmed.
5. Take away the programmed key from the ignition
switch : the LED starts again to flash very fast for
another 30 seconds, during this time.
6. Insert the 2nd transponder key in the ignition
switch : the LED will go off; the 2nd key is
programmed. Take away the key from the ignition
switch.
7. If the vehicle is equipped with only 2 keys, wait
for 30 seconds, : the LED will go off and then
start to flash slowly. The programming cycle is
finished.
8. If the vehicle is equipped with a 3rd transponder
key, don’t wait for 30 seconds, and insert the 3rd
key in the ignition switch : the LED will go off and
start to flash slowly. Take away the 3rd key from
the ignition switch. The programming cycle is
finished.
Fig. 42
- The operations have to be made in the right time;
otherwise the function will finish.
- In case of mistakes, repeat the programming
procedure from the very beginning.
B. Disabling/Enabling the immobilizer in the
event of breaking or loosing the keys with
transponder :
1. Insert a key without transponder in the ignition
switch and turn to “ON” : the LED goes off. Move
the transponder master card close to the ignition
switch: the LED remains switched off. The
immobilizer is disabled. Move the transponder
master card away : the vehicle normally runs.
2. The immobilizer is automatically ENABLE after
30 seconds turning the key to OFF.
3. To switch on the vehicle again, using the key
without transponder, proceed as indicated at point
B1.
