BRAKEMAINTENANCE
BRAKEADJUSTMENT
The disc brake being of the self adjusting type, needs
no adjustment.
SERVICING
To maintain the efficiency of brakes, preventive
maintenance is essential.
Check the pads for wear at specified intervals and fit
new pads when lining and metal pad thickness
measured together is 6 mm. An indication groove is
provided at the centre of the friction pad. If it is
vanished, that is the indication for changing the pad.
Caliper should be overhauled as per service schedule.
REMOVAL OF PADS
Apply the parking brake lever.
Jack up front of the vehicle, remove both front wheels
Fig. 5, inspect pads for wear & calliper for brake fluid
leakage. If they are found to have worn, proceed as
follows to replace them.
Loosen and remove bottom sliding pin bolt holding
sliding pin head. Fig. 6

Swing the caliper up and hold with one hand, remove
both the pads one by one. Fig. 7
