Components :

A. Air Filter :

The Air filter is of dry type. The purpose of

the air filter is to clean the atmospheric air from dirt

& dust before entering the engine cylinder. Air filter

needs to be cleaned periodically and replaced at

recommended intervals.

For air filter cleaning and air filter element

replacement, please refer the “On vehicle service”

section of this manual.

B. Intake Manifold :

The intake manifold is located between the

air intake pipe supplying air from the intercooler and

cylinder head. It is mounted on the cylinder head.

The air from the air filter flows to the engine cylinder

through the air intake manifold.

C. Intercooler :

The intercooler is a heat exchanger used to

cool the compressed hot air coming from the turbo-

charger before it enters the intake manifold. It

increases the density of the air and avoids the

chance of pre-ignition due to high intake air temper-

ature. The intercooler is mounted in front of the

radiator.
