1.7 TROUBLESHOOTING:
Possible Cause
Correction
Slipping
Worn or oily clutch disc lining.
Replace disc.
Warped disc, pressure plate or flywheel surface.
Replace disc, clutch cover or flywheel or all the three.
Burnt Clutch
Replace clutch disc.
Dragging Clutch (Disengaging is not proper)
Weakened diaphragm spring or Worn spring tip
Replace clutch cover.
Rusted input shaft splines.
Clean & Lubricate
Damaged or worn splines of transmission input shaft. Replace input shaft
Excessively wobbly clutch disc.
Replace disc.
Improper fitting of the clutch assembly.
Check if the disc is installed properly.
Clutch Vibration
Glazed (glass-like) clutch lining.
Replace disc
Clutch lining dirty with oil.
Replace disc.
Release bearing internal diameter rubbing hard on
bearing retainer of guide tube.
Lubricate
Wobbly clutch disc, or poor facing contact.
Replace disc.
Clutch disc rivets loose.
Replace disc.
Distorted pressure plate or flywheel surface.
Replace clutch cover or flywheel or both.
Weakened engine mounting or loose mounting bolt
or nut.
Retighten or replace mounting.
NoisyClutch
Worn or broken release bearing.
Replace release bearing
Input shaft front bearing worn down.
Replace input shaft bearing.
Excessive rattle of clutch disc hub.
Replace disc.
Cracked clutch disc
Replace disc
Pressure plate and diaphragm spring are Rattling
Replace clutch cover.
Grabbing Clutch
Clutch disc linings soaked with oil.
Replace disc.
Excessively worn clutch disc linings
Replace disc.
Rivet heads showing out of lining
Replace disc
Weakened torsion springs
Replace disc
Weakened engine mounting or loose mounting bolt
or nut.
Retighten or replace mounting.
