Water in Fuel

sensor short to

ground.

M

1. EGR is disabled.

2. Reduced torque mode activated.

This DTC gets logged due

to water in fuel sensor is

short circuited to ground.

1. Check water in fuel sensor

connector is connected to the

sensor.

2. Check electrical continuity

of wiring harness between

ECU and water in fuel sensor

as per circuit schematics

correct if necessary.

3. Replace water in fuel

sensor if problem persists.

4. Replace ECU if problem

persists.

1. Check water in fuel sensor connector is

connected to the sensor.

2. Check electrical continuity of wiring harness

between ECU and water in fuel sensor as per circuit

schematics correct if necessary.

3. Replace water in fuel sensor if problem persists.

4. Replace ECU if problem persists.

Water in Fuel

Condition.

H

1. WIF (water in fuel) lamp is ON

2. Max engine speed resistected to 2000

rpm.

3. EGR disabled.

This DTC gets logged due

to presence of water in the

fuel.

1. Drain Sedimentary

contents in a bowl and look

for water presence in diesel.

2. Check electrical short

circuit in wiring from water

sensor to ECU.

3. Check Electrical continuity.

4. Check ECU.

1. Drain Sedimentary contents in a bowl and check

for water presence in diesel; If water is present;

drain complete fuel from sedimentary and fuel filter.

2. Check electrical short circuit in wiring from water

sensor to ECU; Rectify short circuit or replace

harness if required.

3. Check Electrical continuity between ECU

connector to water sediment or connector; If

problem persists replace water sedimentary.

4. Check and replace ECU still problem persists.

Brake Pedal

Position /

Accelerator

Pedal Position

Incompatible.

M

1. Limp home activated.

2. No pedal response.

1) This DTC gets logged

due to accelerator pedal &

brake pedal are pressed

when the vehicle is more

than 60 kmph for a

specified length of time.

2) Brake pedal setting is

not correct.

1. Check whether the

accelerator pedal is free to

move.

2. Check the brake switch

setting.

3. Check Electrical continuity.

4. Check ECU.

1. Check; if the Brake lights are on even when no

brake pedal is pressed.

2. Check whether the accelerator pedal is free to

move; Ensure free movement of the pedal; replace

pedal if required.

3. Check the brake switch setting; If the problem is

with the brake setting performs the necessary

repairs.

4. Check Electrical continuity between ECU to

Accelerator pedal connector as per circuit

schematics.

5. Check Electrical continuity between Brake switch

sensor connector to ECU connector as per circuit

schematic.

6. Check and replace ECU still problem persists.

7. After rectification ensure the following checks

before handing over the vehicle to customer.

a) When pedal is not pressed - Pedal position in

tata diagnostic tool should be close to 0%.

b) When the pedal is fully pressed- Pedal position

in tata diagnostic tool should be close to 100 %.

c) Ensure break light is not glowing when the

brake pedal is not pressed.
