Out With
ABS/ESP.
No CAN communication between EMS and
ABS/ESP.
1) ABS/ESP ECU not
connected in the vehicle.
2) ABS/ESP ECU 10 Amps
Ignition Fuse blown or not
present (in Cabin Fuse
Relay Box).
3) Improper/ No Grounding
(Pin 38 of ABS/ESP ECU).
4) Open Circuit on the
Ignition Line (Pin no 32) of
ABS/ESP ECU.
5) Permanent open circuit
failure in CAN High line of
ABS/ESP (Pin No.26) stub
(or connector) in wiring
harness.
6) Permanent open circuit
failure in CAN Low line of
ABS/ESP (Pin No.14) stub
(or connector) in wiring
harness.
7) Permanent open circuit
failure in CAN High line of
EMS (Pin No. B53) stub (or
connector) in wiring
harness.
8) Permanent open circuit
failure in CAN Low line of
EMS (Pin No.B54) stub (or
connector) in wiring
harness.
9) Permanent failure in
ABS/ESP ECU.
1. Check if ABS/ESP ECU is
connected properly in the
vehicle.
1) Check if ABS/ESP ECU is connected properly in
the vehicle.
2) Check if ABS/ESP ECU 10 Amps Ignition fuse is
connected properly in Cabin Fuse Relay Box
(CFRB); if fuse not present or blown
connect/replace the fuse.
3) Switch off the Ignition.
4) Disconnect the ABS/ESP connector; Check if
there is any wiring harness back out on Pin No 32
and Pin No 38 of ABS/ESP Connector.
5) Check the continuity between Pin 38 and
Chassis Ground. If there is no continuity correct the
wiring harness.
6) Switch On the Ignition; using voltmeter measure
the voltage between pin 32 and pin 38 of ABS/ESP
connector. Measured voltage should be with 8V to
14V range. If not correct the wiring harness.
7) After rectification switch off the ignition and
connect the ABS/ESP connector.
8) Clear all DTCs in ABS/ESP.
9) Check DTCs in ABS/ESP.
a) If ABS/ESP logs C1617 or C1616 as Active
DTC; then there is an open circuit failure in
ABS/ESP stub (or connector).
b) Check CAN wiring harness for open circuit
failure in ABS/ESP stub (or connector).
c) Replace CAN wiring harness.
10) Check DTCs in TOD; IC; FATC (If they are
present in the vehicle variant).
a) If TOD log both U0101&U0100 and IC log both
U1022 &U2401 and FATC log both U1026 &
U1027 as Active DTC; then there is an open
circuit in EMS stub (or connector).
b) Check CAN wiring harness for open circuit
failure in EMS stub (or connector).
c) Replace CAN wiring harness.
11) Measure resistance between CAN High (3 pole
connector pin no.3) and CAN Low (3 pole connector
pin no.1) lines to detect open circuit failure in main
CAN bus.
12) Check DTCs in ABS/ESP.
a) If ABS/ESP logs C1605 as an Active DTC; then
there is a permanent Software failure in
ABS/ESP.
b) Replace ABS/ESP ECU.
