Rail Pressure
sensor fault (at
key on).
H
1. Engine will / may not start.
2. Reduced torque Mode activated.
3. Engine stops after few seconds.
4. Pilot injection disabled.
5. EGR is deactivated.
6. Injector balancing is disabled.
7. IMV operates without any trim correction.
8. High pressure Leak detection test is
prevented.
9. IMV is fully open.
10. Rail pressure demand value is limited to
800 bar.
11. Rail pressure sensing is deactivated.
12. Disables the Rail pressure build
measurement.
13. Rail pressure control fault detection is
deactivated.
This DTC gets logged due
to out of range pressure
value at the time of ignition
key is on.
1. Check sensor connections
for rust dirt etc.
2. Check Intermediate
connector.
3. Visually check sensor.
4. Check Electrical continuity.
5. Check ECU.
6. Check battery terminals for
any loose contact.
1. Check adequate fuel is available in the tank.
2. Check there is no air entry in to the low pressure
fuel line.
3. Ensure fuel filter is not clogged.
4. Ensure there is no leakage in the high pressure
fuel line.
5. Check & ensure connector for proper fitment.
6. Check sensor connections for rust dirt etc. if
found clean the sensor connections and ensure
proper fitment.
7. Check Intermediate connector; Replace sensor
connector if damaged.
8. Visually check sensor; if damaged replace the
sensor.
9. Check for the presence of fault codes P0251;
P0192 and P0193; if present follow check
procedures for the fault codes P0251; P0192 and
P0193.
10. Check the LP circuit; Refer LP circuit check and
rectification procedure.
11. Check the HP circuit; Refer HP circuit check
and rectification Procedure.
12. Check the Injector and follow Injector check and
rectification procedure if any abnormality is found.
13. Check and ensure continuity between ECU to
Rail pressure sensor connector as per circuit
schematics.
14. Replace rail assembly if Problem persists;
15. Check the HP pump; Rectify/replace HP pump if
found faulty.
16. Check and replace ECU if problem still persists.
17. After rectification ensure the following before
handing over to customer.
a) Rail pressure at ignition key on is < 10 bar;
b) By removing the rail pressure sensor connector
shows rail pressure value of 800 bar
c) High pressure leak detection test can be
carried out.
d) Please drive the vehicle on road; check and
ensure rail pressure feed-back follows the
demand continuously.
