16. STEERING CUM IGNITION SWITCH

(IF APPLICABLE)

FUNCTION

To lock the steering wheel

To start & stop the engine

To switch on accessories and other electrical

system

LOCATION

It is fitted on steering column below the steering

wheel and combi switch.

REMOVAL & REFITMENT OF STEERING LOCK

CUM IGNITION SWITCH (SLCIS):

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect battery negative terminal.

2. Remove steering nacelle. (Refer “Removal &

refitment of steering nacelle" from steering

section.)

3. Remove steering wheel. (Refer “Removal &

refitment of steering wheel" from steering

section.)

4. Remove combi switch. (Refer “Removal &

Refitment of combi switch." )

5. Disconnect steering lock cum Ignition switch

connection.

6. Steering lock cum ignition switch mounting

screws are anti loosening. To remove the

Ignition lock, screw to be loosened by using

flat screw driver and hammer.

7. Remove assembly of SLCIS.

REFITMENT:

1. Refit SLCIS and tighten its mounting screws.

2. Reconnect SLCIS connection.

3. Refit combination switch.

4. Refit steering Wheel.

5. Refit steering nacelle.

6. Refit battery negative terminal.
