P0097-11: Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Low (Bank 1): Air intake manifold temperature (circuit short to
ground)
Overview:
DTC Description (User Friendly)
P0097-15: Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Low: Air
intake manifold temperature (circuit short to ground).
ECU Pin Number
A038, A096, A095, A061
Customer Symptom
MIL ON, CEL OFF.
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
-
Lamp Status (If Any)
MIL ON. MIL Turns Off as and when fault condition is not
present / healed.
Fault Detection Condition (Root cause)
1. This DTC gets logged if EMS intake air temperature 2
(Boost Temperature) input pin no 4 gets short
circuited to ground.
2. The sensed raw voltage value of the engine Inlet
valve upstream air temperature is less than 236 volt.
Normal Operating Condition
Proper wiring harness connections between Intake Air
Temperature sensor 2 (Boost Temperature Sensor) and EMS
ECU.
Probable Trouble Area
Wiring Harness connections between EMS ECU & Boost
temperature sensor
Healing Condition
Rectify the errorClear through diagnostic toolIgnition OFF &
ON.
Component Details:
Boost Temperature sensor is a NTC sensor which provides the Boost air temperature to EMS ECU.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above
Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence.
2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with
respect to earlier issue closure.
3. Check for Damage in EMS ECU connector / Boost Pressure & Temperature sensor connector.
4. Check for any back out of pins at EMS ECU connector / Boost Pressure & Temperature sensor connector.
5. Check for any damage of pins at EMS ECU connector / Boost Pressure & Temperature sensor connector.
