Airbag ECU as per the VC.
2. Crash output HW presence should be as per the VC.
3. Short to ground should not be present for Crash output
HW.
Probable Trouble Area
Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals
Crash Output HW
Airbag ECU
Healing Condition
1. Correct System configuration should be written to Airbag
ECU as per VC.
2. Short to ground for Crash output HW should be
removed.
Component Details:-
Airbag ECU
:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls
the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver
and passengers.
Crash Output HW:-
Crash Output signal via Hardware pin (A5) is sent by Airbag ECU to other ECU’s in the vehicle
within 25 milliseconds when a crash happens. BCM & EMS ECU processes this crash output signal. BCM ECU will
trigger for door unlocking & hazard lights ON & EMS ECU will trigger for fuel cut off.
Preliminary Checks:-
1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above)
2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster.
3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound.
