B223E - 92: Rear Wiper Park Position Signal – Performance or Incorrect Operation

Customer Symptom

Rear wash/wipe may not function correctly

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Rear wash/wipe may not function correctly

Lamp Status (If Any)

NA

Fault Detection Condition

This fault will be logged when user operates the rear

wiper motor with rear wiper is in park for more than

preconfigured delay time due to failure in park input. If

in-park fault is detected for rear wiper park position

signal for more than defined delay then this DTC code

will be returned with the results.

Normal Operating Condition

There should not be any fault returned by routine

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Rear wiring harness short to ground

3. BCM ECU fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF

ON

2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Rear wiper Park Position Signal part of Rear wiper motor and interfaced to the BCM as a feedback

input. If the IGN is on and if user put the combi switch to Rear wiper on position, rear wiper park

position signal gives a feedback to BCM about the in park and out of park of the rear wiper.

Preliminary Checks:

Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V)

Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
