crash

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Fuel cut off will not happened during crash

Lamp Status (If Any)

CEL ON. CEL Turns Off as and when fault condition is not

present / healed.

Fault Detection Condition (Root cause)

1. RCM connector is not connected properly or

disconnected from its location.

2. CAN wire from RCM connector side is

disconnected.

3. RCM is not powered up.

4. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of RCM are

opened.

5. Any of the the selected frames from SRS node is timed out.

Normal Operating Condition

ECM ECU communicates properly with RCM ECU.

Probable Trouble Area

1. Disconnection of the RCM ECU connector

2. CAN_H and CAN_L lines at RCM connector end.

Healing Condition

1. To fix the RCM connector correctly

2. Fix the wiring harness issues from RCM side.

3. CAN_H, CAN_L or/ and both lines of RCM are

connected properly to the RCM connector.

Component Details:

A restraint and fuel pump cutoff control system is disclosed wherein a restraint control module controls the restraint

system such as an air bag deployment system and a fuel system power supply based upon data inputs from sensors

positioned at various locations on the vehicle. When data received from the sensors indicates that a collision event has

occurred and has reached the predetermined level of severity, power to the fuel system is cut off to prevent undesired

pumping of fuel. If power is interrupted during a collision event, the fuel system will be cut off and remain cut off until reset

by turning the ignition switch to off and then to run/start indicating a clean shutdown.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above

Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence.

2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with

respect to earlier issue closure.

3. Check for Damage in EMS ECU connector / RCM ECU Connector.

4. Check for any back out of pins at EMS ECU connector / RCM ECU Connector.

5. Check for any damage of pins at EMS ECU connector / RCM ECU Connector.
