NOTE
•
Turn the crankshaft and bring 2-3 crankpin
journals to top most position (TDC) on to
which connecting rod with piston are to be
fitted.
26. Install the remaining pistons following the
same procedure.
27. Place the flywheel on the dowel and fit the
mounting bolts.
NOTE
•
First insert the flywheel locking pin at the
time of tightening the mounting bolt at
specified torque.
28. Tighten the bolts suitably to the specified
torque.
iv. Fitment of Cylinder Head on Cylinder
Block
NOTE
•
Rotate the engine block at 180
0
1. Measure piston projection above crankcase
with the help of piston topping dial gauge.
NOTE
•
Ensure the readings are within the
specified limits.
2. Based on the piston projection / protrusion
values above crankcase, select correct
thickness of cylinder head gasket. Refer the
table.
3. Install the cylinder head with gasket on the
cylinder block mating surface. Make sure the
head gasket sits flush on the cylinder block
and locating the dowels properly.
4. Tighten the cylinder head mounting bolts to
specified torque in the proper sequence as
shown below
