17. Using Special Tool, install rear oil seal in
cylinder block rear cover.

Crankshaft Rear Cover Oil Seal Drift -

NOTE
•
Mating surfaces of crankcase and rear
cover should be cleaned.
•
Apply grease on crankshaft rear cover
gasket.
18. Install cylinder block rear cover with new
gasket and tighten the bolts at specified
torque.
19. Tighten the bolts diagonally to specified
torque.
NOTE
•
Turn the crankshaft and bring 1-4 crankpin
journals to top most position (TDC) on to
which connecting rod with piston are to be
fitted.
20. Apply oil on piston rings, cylinder bores and
bearing shells.
21. Lower piston connecting rod assembly upto
piston rings into cylinder bore with arrow on
piston crown pointing towards timing belt side.
22. Clamp piston ring compressor over piston
rings to slide inside the cylinder bore.
23. Lower piston gradually inside cylinder bore
using wooden handle or mallet till connecting
rod locates on crank pin journal. Slowly rotates
crankshaft simultaneously pushing piston till
crank pin journal reaches BDC position.
NOTE
•
While inserting piston connecting rod
assembly, ensure that crankshaft should
not damaged due to connecting rod
assembly.
24. Install connecting rod bearing caps with
bearing shell on connecting rod ensuring that
bearing shell lugs are on same side.
25. Tighten connecting rod bearing cap mounting
capscrew to specified torque.
