Driver Selectable
Purpose
Default (D) Mode Selector lever
in the D position
Drive range should be used for all normal driving conditions for
maximum efficiency and fuel economy. Drive range allows the
transmission to operate in each of the 6 forward gear ratios.
Downshifts to a lower gear, or higher gear ratio, are available for safe
passing by depressing the accelerator or by manually selecting a
lower gear in the manual mode range.
Sports Mode, selector lever
pushed into Manual gate
Commands Gearbox to shift at higher engine rev vs Default Pattern to
provide more dynamic feel. Performance of engine is not changed.
Sport pattern is maintained until shifter is moved back in D or
operated in manual Gate +/-( see next )
Manual mode selector lever in
Manual Gate pushed Up / pulled
Down
Driver will be available to select gear on demand. The transmission
will only allow you to shift into gears appropriate for the vehicle speed
and engine revolution per min. 1stor 2Ndgear can be select from stop.
Gear is hold depending vehicle speed.
Base Function
Purpose
Torque Converter Clutch control
Torque Converter Clutch will operate in open, slip or lock mode
depending gear and loads. Improve fuel economy and drivability by
reducing torque converter slip. Function is not activated in first gear.
Altitude Compensation
Provide consistent Gear Shift quality and Performance at high altitude
Adaptive Shift Parameters
The purpose of the adapt function is to automatically compensate the
shift quality for the various vehicle shift control systems. The adapt
function is a continuous process that will help to maintain optimal shift
quality throughout the life of the vehicle.
Uphill/ Downhill mode
TCU detect a grade change based on loads and adjust typical pattern
to maintain optimal gear selection for performance and drivability.
Hot mode
Is activated when vehicle driving condition or cooling issues generate
an abnormal elevation of transmission temperature above 132°C. This
mode affects the default pattern.
