4. Pull out and remove the plug from speedo drive.

5. Press out the speedo drive shaft with suitable

punch and take out the speedo drive pinion (if fit-

ted).

INSPECTION



Check for the cracks on rear cover housing.



Check for any damage to speedo gear assembly.

ASSEMBLY

1. Keep the speedo drive gear in the cavity and

push the speedo shaft.

2. Fit the oil seal in the adaptor keeping the lip side

outwards and tighten the adaptor on to the rear

cover.

3. Press the plug- speedo drive in the housing from

the other end. Ensure gap of 1mm between plug

face to speedo shaft end.

4. Fit the oil seal with the help of drift (Part No.

2654 5890 26 07) and handle (Part No. 2640

5890 35 11).

NOTE

Fill 3% grease Mo S2 320 in the pocket between

main lip and dust lip of oil seal.

H. ADAPTOR (4X4)

(If Applicable)

DISMANTLING

1. Remove the main shaft oil seal from rear cover

with the help of suitable drift.

ASSEMBLY

Fit the oil seal with the help of drift (Part No. 2654

5890 26 07) and handle (Part No. 2640 5890 35 11)

on the adaptor.
